The treatment of acute and chronic wounds will continue to challenge the clinician. The progressive aging of our population, the prevalence of obesity, vascular disease and diabetes will further increase the incidence of difficult wounds and place a greater burden on already over-stretched medical resources. This Congress will bring together a multidisciplinary faculty comprising of surgeons, physicians, nurses, primary care personnel, scientists and industry to highlight the emergence and application of new technologies to enhance wound healing. The program will cover a broad range of topics including: scientific research into the underlying mechanisms of action, clinical indications, therapeutic experience and encourage the generation of evidence based clinical trials to formally assess outcomes. Delegates will also be able to preview emerging new strategies in development that have the potential to further revolutionise our approach to wound management in the coming decade.
