Registration Types and Eligibility

Developed Countries
This applies to all delegates from countries not listed in the DAC list of aid recipients below or eligible for the student rate. Click here to download the complete list.

Developing Countries /Economies in Transition
This applies to delegates who are citizens of and who permanently live and work in one the countries listed in the DAC List of Aid Recipients. Click here to download the complete list.

Travel Companions
Persons accompanying a registered delegate of the XXII IUFRO World Congress may register under this category. A range of additional day tour options have been designed for travel companions. Please refer to the Tours section or visit the General Travel website for further details.

Student
Delegates registering at the Student rate must be fulltime students at a tertiary institution/university. Students must submit a copy of their current student card confirming your fulltime status with the registration form when registering for the congress. Please fax to: +61 (0)7 3854 1507.

Day Delegate
This applies to those who wish to attend the Congress for one day only.

The list of developing countries stated has been compiled by IUFRO from the Development Co-operative Directorate (DAC) List of Aid Recipients.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations for registration and accommodation will only be accepted in writing. Registration cancellations made prior to 8 June 2005 will be refunded less 25% to cover administration costs.
No registration refunds will be made after this date. Alternatively, your registration may be transferred to another person without penalty. This transfer must be advised to the Congress Manager in writing. Cancellations of additional tickets for social functions received in writing by the Congress Managers more than 7 working days prior to the commencement of the Congress will be refunded.

Congress Registration Desk
On arrival at the Congress, please register your attendance at the Registration Desk located in the foyer area of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Your namebadge must be worn at all times, as this is your entry into sessions and functions. Security staff have been asked to refuse entry to anyone not wearing their name badge.

Visas and Quarantine
All non Australian and New Zealand passport holders require a visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter Australia. We strongly recommend that you apply for your visa not less than (2) months prior to your intended travel date.

An Australian Government guide for intending visitors to Australia including important information about visa, Customs clearance, quarantine, health issues, and other issues can be found on the Australian Government Immigration website: www.immi.gov.au.

A Letter of Invitation to the Congress may be required with your visa application. These letters will only be provided to persons who have registered for the Congress and paid registration fees in full.

Australia has very strict quarantine rules and failure to observe quarantine requirements is treated severely by Australian authorities. You may be subject to examination by quarantine officers on arrival in Australia. We recommend you visit the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service website www.aqis.gov.au for further information prior to arriving in Australia.
