Call
for Presentations
Abstract submission for IBC and ASC 2004 has now closed.
The
Organising Committees sincerely thank all those who have submitted to
date, however regrets that no further abstracts will be accepted.
Authors
will be informed of their acceptance and method of presentation by
Monday 2 February 2004. The Program Committee will attempt to
accommodate your preferred method of presentation, however as each format
will form an integral element of the conference, the Program Committee
reserves the right to assign papers to either oral or poster presentation
if necessary.
Detailed
poster preparation and oral presentation guidelines will be sent with
the notification of acceptance. In the meantime, we recommend those participants
who are presenting a talk or poster, or who have been requested to chair
a session during the conference, look at the advice prepared by the School
of Mathematics and Applied Statistics at the University of Wollongong,
NSW, Australia on
"Good
presentations and how to achieve them".

Presenter
Expenses
All presenters are required to pay their own registration, accommodation
and travel expenses. The Conference is unable to subsidise presenter costs.
All presenters are required to register for the conference, however
you may choose do this after your abstract has been accepted if you wish.

Prizes
The Statistical Society of Australia will award the E.J.G. Pitman Prize
of $500 to the best presentation by a young statistician at ASC 2004.
To be eligible a person must be a member of SSAI and a 'young statistician',
which shall mean a person who is studying either full-time or part-time
without age limit, or a person who has graduated with a Bachelor's Degree
within the last five years, or a person awarded a Postgraduate Degree
within the past year.
